The harvest has just ended! With a year marked by high temperatures and extreme drought, we could have expected an early harvest in Gigondas. However, the vines needed the stormy rains that fell at the beginning of September to perfect the maturity of the grapes. Here is a first update on the 2022 vintage.

The wines of the Gigondas appellation can also be enjoyed in white!
On September 8th, the committee of the National Institute of Origin and Quality (INAO) accepted the request of the Gigondas winegrowers to extend our AOC to white wines! This is the culmination of 11 years of work, especially for Pierre who is very active in the group of winegrowers who are carrying the project. Indeed, it was an objective that had been close to our hearts for a long time. Our grandfather, Pierre Amadieu Senior, had already seen the potential of great white wines on our high altitude terroirs in Gigondas. He had planted Clairette blanche vines as early as the 1950s. These vines are still in production and are at the origin of our white Côtes-du-Rhône Domaine Grand Romane. From the 2023 vintage, you will find it under the Gigondas appellation!
Focus on the vintage on sale: 2020
La majority of our red wines are available for sale in their 2020 vintage. An opportunity to look back at this particularly early vintage, which gives us wines that are full of finesse and freshness.

Since this spring, Nathalie welcomes you to the tasting cellar at the entrance of the village. She will introduce you to our latest vintages and advise you on your choice of wines. Our cellar is open every day from 10am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 5:30pm (except Sundays in November and December, and weekends in January and February)
